Why does the city of High Point in North Carolina attract nearly 100,000 visitors in the furniture industry at the beginning of spring and fall seasons? The answer is simple: It's because this is the time when the International Home Furnishings Market takes place, recognized as the world's top furniture event, with over 10% of attendees coming from more than 110 countries worldwide.

This trade show is held twice a year in April and October in the city of High Point, North Carolina. It is the largest furniture fair in the world, covering an area of 11.5 million square feet (equivalent to 106.8 hectares) comprising 188 buildings. Each year, about 3,000 companies exhibit their products at the fair, attracting around 70,000-80,000 visitors.
The significance of the High Point Market, which receives special attention and support from the economic agencies of the state of North Carolina, is entirely justified. The first furniture manufacturing facility, The High Point Furniture Manufacturing Company, was established here in 1889. By 1955, nearly 50% of all wooden beds produced in the United States originated from High Point.
